Everyone coming from Greece will need a COVID-19 test

Starting from August 6, Cyprus will introduce mandatory testing for all arrivals from Greece, as the country is transferred to B group.
This decision was made after many coronavirus-infected passengers returning from Greece were identified during random tests in the last few days.

At least five Cypriots produced a positive result during sample or work-related tests after returning from Mykonos, Thessaloniki or Athens.

On Sunday, representatives of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Cyprus said that any travellers from Greece starting from Thursday would be required to submit a negative COVID-19 test carried out within 72 hours before travelling to the island.

Cypriots and their spouses as well as permanent residents of the island can take the test at their own expense upon arrival at the airport terminal.

The Cyprus News Agency (CNA) reported that the authorities have announced that additional tests will be carried out at airports for returnees as part of a random test of passengers regardless of their country of arrival, nationality or destination.

Officials said that the list of countries is regularly updated at least once a week.
