Going outside with no SMS required: Cypriot authorities clarify when you are allowed to do so
Since January 10, Cyprus resumed the system of receiving permission SMS to go out – this is one of the measures against the spread of coronavirus infection. However, there are a number of exceptions to the general rule of “two messages per day per person” – the authorities explain which ones.
It is acceptable to go outside without requesting and receiving an authorization SMS on the number 8998 in case of:
– people with disabilities and autism spectrum disorders – along with a companion;
– to walk pets within 500 meters of the house (maximum two people, not counting children accompanied by their parents);
– to take/pick up a child from/to kindergarten, daycare center, special school.
