According to StockWatch, out of 819 hotels in Cyprus, only less than two dozen do not plan to close for the winter – the participants of the tourist market of the island according to called the season 2020 one of the worst in history.
In particular, open in the winter months will remain 10 of the approximately 200 hotels in Paphos (of which – not a single five-star), two – in Famagusta (of 239) and one – in Larnaca.
The coronavirus is the cause of such problems in the tourist market. Due to the fall sickness rate growth, other countries excluded Cyprus from their “green lists”, although in summer they allowed to return from the island without tests and two weeks quarantine. And in general, many European countries due to the second wave of the epidemic imposed severe restrictions on movement for their citizens and residents.
