The Traffic Police of the Republic of Cyprus reported more than 600 traffic violations in the last 24 hours, after the introduction of higher tariffs for traffic violations.
The first day after the introduction of stricter penalties for traffic violations began difficult: the traffic police issued more than 600 fines throughout Cyprus.
The head of the traffic police, Yannakis Georgiou, reported in the news today that the police issued a total of 632 fines to drivers across the island. Moreover, most of the fines were fines for speeding.
Mr. Georgiou noted that on Thursday, the police were on duty on most roads in Cyprus and stressed that the police officers will show zero tolerance for traffic violations.
