The Cyprus Public Transport Authority (CPT) announced on Wednesday that students will be able to pay for their tickets online.

For the first time, all holders of the Motion Card will be able to top up their card online, without having to visit points of sale, said in a written statement of the company.

“This new development is part of a wider range of innovative solutions that CPT will gradually implement in Cyprus,” it said in a statement.

These include the company’s innovative smartphone application, air-conditioned buses with advanced technology, with ports for charging Wi-Fi and USB, electronic scoreboards with information about the next stop, and the latest technological geolocation system, which will allow students-passengers to know the exact location of their bus at any time.

It was also announced that the renewal of student passes has been extended until October 20.
