Rapid testing for COVID-19 will become obligatory for employees of all Cypriot companies which start working from February 1, or expand presence of staff in the offices from 25% to 50% of staff, the ministry of health said.
As explained in the department, the purpose of the innovation is to minimize the risk of spreading infection in the workplace. In order to go to work on February 1, one had to take the test by January 31. Then one would have to repeat the test weekly – the test is valid for seven days. But the Ministry of Health stresses that this does not apply to cases where a person has symptoms characteristic of coronavirus, or comes into close contact with infected people.
Mobile laboratories for sampling and analysis of results will operate in all regions of the country. The list of addresses will be updated daily by the Ministry of Health.
