The Cypriot government has decided to allocate funds from the state budget to pay compensation to citizens affected by the disaster on December 14. Recall that on that day two tornadoes struck the island.
The main blow came to the villages Vyzakia, Koutrafas, Nikitari, Astromeritis and Potami – there were damaged power lines, damaged roofs of houses and farm buildings. The authorities are ready to spend a total of 550,000 euros on material support to the residents of the villages.
It is planned to create two committees – one will assess the scale of damage in each specific case, and the second will work with objections in case the victims do not agree with the amount of compensation.
