Vaccination in Cyprus: 22 cases of side-effects reported

Since the start of the coronavirus vaccination campaign at the end of December last year, 22 cases of side-effects from the vaccine have been reported in Cyprus, Sigmalive reports, citing the Ministry of Health.

82% of the side-effects reports were submitted by health workers and 18% by patients themselves or their relatives.

41% of the reports were for infrequent side-effects and 59% for common side-effects.

None of the vaccination reactions resulted in death or hospital admission (or prolonged admission), were life-threatening to the patient and did not result in disability.

The Ministry of Health informs that a service for the electronic reporting of vaccination side-effects has been launched – a form can be filled in at www.kitrinikarta.gov.cy. This information will help health professionals and statisticians to get a more complete picture of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign and to make adjustments to the procedure if necessary.
