Today, Tuesday, at 19:00, British Minister Boris Johnson will advise the residents in his address – to work from home and impose new restrictions on pubs, bars and restaurants. This is due to the rapidly accelerating second wave of COVID-19.
“We know it will not be easy, but we need to take further action to contain the virus,” Johnson will say. Excerpts from his speech today have spread the minister’s office on Downing Street.
Although only a few weeks ago he urged people to get back to work, the negative epidemiological situation is developing so rapidly that the minister has to decide to close all the pubs, bars and restaurants throughout England starting at 22:00 on Thursday and offer citizens, if possible, to work from home.
“We are taking these steps reluctantly, but they are absolutely necessary because … the number of people getting sick is increasing, the number of people getting to the hospital is increasing, so we have to act,” said Chancellor Gove.
