There are 19 more Syrian illegal immigrants in Cyprus

In the early Friday morning near the buffer zone between Cyprus and the occupied north of the island another batch of illegal migrants from Syria was discovered.

The refugees were walking along the Akaki-Peristerona road when they were stopped by a police patrol. All of the detainees were men. After undergoing all standard procedures (document checks, coronavirus tests, etc.) they will be sent to a temporary accommodation center in Kokkinotrimithia.

Recall that earlier this year, a large batch of migrants arrived in Cyprus by sea – 55 people landed in the marina of Ayia Napa.
