Cyprus statistics summed up the results of October in the sphere of tourism – and they were disappointing again. During the reporting month, compared to October 2019, Cyprus took four times less tourists – the fault, of course, coronavirus pandemic and related restrictions.
The number of tourists coming to Cyprus in October was only 100,791 – compared with 436,509 in October 2019. In percentage terms, this is 76.9% less.
One of the main “suppliers” of tourists to Cyprus – UK – in the reporting month showed a decline of almost 60% in the number of arrivals. At the same time there was also a decrease of 25% of tourist flow from Germany, 64.8% – from Greece and 17.1% – from Denmark.
From January to October 2020, the inflow of tourists to Cyprus amounted to 612,975 people compared to 3,697,055 in the corresponding period of 2019, which is 83.4% less.
