On September 3, Cyprus again declared the red level of danger due to the heat. Extremely high temperatures are expected during the day.
Meteorological service of the island announced the introduction of red level of weather danger. This is the second time this week, the air temperature in the inland areas will rise today to +42C, and in the Trodos Mountains to +36C.
The warning will be valid from 12:00 to 17:00 on Thursday.
The weather forecast for Friday, September 4, suggests that the temperature will be, albeit slightly, rising and will soon remain above seasonal norms.
Especially be careful in high heat (minimum time to spend in the sun):
those who are genetically ill with the heat;
young children;
elderly people, especially if they have diseases of the cardiovascular system, the body’s thermoregulation system, and the nervous system;
pregnant women;
people with impaired thyroid, cardiovascular, nervous and thermoregulatory functions and overweight;
those who have already suffered heatstroke in the past, have an increased risk of getting it again;
those who are active in sports.
