The Head of the Cyprus Parliament resigned
Today, on October 15, the head of the Parliament of the Republic of CyprusDemetris Syllouris resigned.
A few days ago Demetris Syllouris wanted to do it only temporarily until the end of investigation as he was sure of his innocence. But the current resignation does not imply his return.
Such a decision was made because of the great resonance and under enormous pressure.
The cause of the scandal was a report by the Qatari TV channel Al Jazeera and a videotape in which the prime minister allegedly discussed the possibility of obtaining Cypriot citizenship for a Chinese businessman with a criminal past.
