The Parliament of Montenegro adopted the Law on Same-sex Partnership on July 1. Now same-sex marriages are legalized in the country.
To pass this law, it was necessary to gain 41 votes. Forty-two deputies voted in support of the draft law on same-sex partnerships and five opposed it. Now, by law, same-sex couples in Montenegro can enjoy the same rights as heterosexual couples. In addition to the possibility of adopting children.
