Russia is introducing electronic visas for citizens of 52 countries, it should increase the flow of tourists to the country.
From January 1, 2021 the citizens of 52 countries will be able to enter Russia only with an electronic visa. The list of states has already been approved by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. This was reported by the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers.
Electronic visas to Russia are already valid from 2017 in the Far East and from 2019 in Kaliningrad, St. Petersburg and Leningrad region.
According to statistics, the simplified issuance of electronic visas has already led to an increase in tourist flow in these regions.
From January 1, foreigners who received an electronic visa will be able to cross the Russian border through a specially equipped checkpoint regardless of the region. The period of stay on such visa in Russia will also be increased from 8 to 16 days.
Electronic visa will be available for tourist, business, humanitarian and guest trips. To get it you will not need invitations, hotel reservations or any other documents confirming the purpose of travel. The cost of the consular fee will be $ 40. Children under 6 years old visa will be issued for free.
The list of countries whose citizens will be able to apply for an electronic visa to Russia, will be included: Andorra, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Bulgaria, Vatican, Hungary, Germany, Greece, Denmark, India, Indonesia, Iran, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Qatar, Cyprus, China (including Taiwan), North Korea, Kuwait, Latvia, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Spain, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Oman, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Northern Macedonia, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey.
