At the end of last week, the Spanish government recommended the authorities of the Autonomous Community of Madrid to introduce quarantine in the capital because of the sharp increase in diagnosed cases of COVID-19. The decision was announced last Friday by Salvador Illa, the country’s health minister.
However, locals do not want to be locked in their homes again and on Sunday, September 27, they organized protests in various parts of Madrid. More than a thousand people of different ages took to the streets, including elderly residents.
