Mackenzie Beach is safe to swim again
On Wednesday, Larnaca Municipality told residents that the water on the popular Mackenzie Beach is crystal clear and meets EU and Cypriot specifications.
A week ago, the famous beach was closed for 24 hours after sewage from a damaged sewerage system spilled into the sea. The beach was already open to the public on Friday.
According to the municipality, laboratory samples of sea water showed the norm and officials also assured that the entire area and beach equipment was treated and disinfected.
