The Cyprus Traffic Safety Board has decided to limit the speed on the main streets of Nicosia and Limassol – now it is allowed to drive at a maximum speed of 30 km / h, reports Philenews.
The main streets are Stasikratous (Nicosia) and Angiras – continuation of Agiu Andreou (Limassol). The reason for this decision is the expansion of sidewalks on these sections of the road. The roadway has been narrowed, and the municipalities have determined that the high speed of vehicular traffic, where there is an advantage for pedestrians, may not be safe.
Recall, such speed limits were previously in effect near schools and at entrances to interchanges.
Restrictions will come into force when appropriate road signs will be installed.
