Kidnappers tried to lure four children with T-shirts featuring famous footballers in Limassol the night before, CNA reports.

Around eight o’clock in the evening, two young men approached the boys, aged 8-11, who were playing in the square in the Old Port. They said they had T-shirts with images of famous athletes in their car and offered the children to walk with them to the car. The boys, however, reported the generous offer to their parents, who were nearby, and the men were detained by police officers who arrived on the scene.

Philenews says the detainees are two Egyptian nationals, aged 21 and 29. They are suspected of attempted kidnapping and are being investigated.
