In Limassol, police arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of drug trafficking – a suspicion reinforced by the fact that at the sight of the law enforcement officers he tried to run away and get rid of his backpack.
The drug cops stopped the motorcycle on which the young man was riding in the city “for control purposes. However, the driver did not wait for them and attempted to flee on foot, dropping the backpack he had been carrying on his back. He did not manage to get far – soon law enforcers successfully caught him and picked up the bag.
In the backpack there was 499 grams of cocaine, 14 grams of cannabis and precision scales. A search of its owner turned up some more marijuana on him, as well as 930 euros, the origin of which he could not plausibly explain.
The drugs and money were seized from the guy, and he was arrested and charged with possession of illegal substances with intent to sell.
