The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Cyprus today, Monday, specified that people who are already in Greece and will return to the island after Thursday, when the country will be classified as a category B, will not have to pay for coronavirus tests, which they have to take upon arrival.
This decision was announced after people who had already left for Greece reacted strongly to the information that they would have to pay for coronavirus tests on their return.
On Monday, the Ministry of Health announced that the Cypriots and permanent residents of the island, who had left for Greece before the announcement was made on 2 August and were planning to return after 6 August, would be tested free of charge at airports upon arrival.
However, the Ministry said that they would have to provide the laboratory with a copy of their ticket and/or boarding pass with the date of their departure from Cyprus.
