Cyprus extended the ban on commercial flights until 8 June. This decision was justified by the need to contain the COVID-19 pandemic on the island.
In its press release, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announced that the new decree would extend the ban on flights for an additional 11 days, from 29 May to 8 June 2020.
On the other hand, the Council of Ministers of the Republic allowed the islanders to use organized beaches, sun beds and other necessary infrastructure from 23 May, 8 days before the initially scheduled date.
Until that day, the islanders could only use the wild beaches for one sole purpose – swimming.
