The price index of construction materials in Cyprus in 2020 decreased by 0.42% year-on-year despite the coronavirus pandemic and its negative impact on the economy – such data was published by CyCtat.
Statisticians note that the figure was mainly affected by lower prices for road asphalt (-19.38%), construction metal (-9.42%), construction mesh (-4.42%) and asphalt concrete (-3.24%).
The rise in price affected such categories of building materials as bricks (23.48%), iron railings (6.97%), sockets, switches, fuses and insulators (3.45%), aluminum railings and grills (3.37%) and structural steel (2.01%).
