The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Cyprus made an announcement today, October 23. In it, government officials ask adults and children with symptoms of coronavirus (loss of smell, taste, general weakness, cough, high fever) not to visit the offices of general practitioners (therapists) and pediatricians.
Instead of going to a doctor, the sick are offered to consult by phone.
Ministry officials also urged therapists and pediatricians to answer the phone and provide maximum support to all callers.
“The risk of infecting others is extremely high when people with symptoms visit our clinics,” said Joseph Cassios, a general health care physician.
Every day the doctor contacts at least 300 people, and if the patient infects him, it means that at least 300 people can be infected.
