Developers of new software that promises to find and erase your data from the network have already attracted $25 million.
Transcend software should simplify the process of collecting and removing personal data of users from the Internet which is collected by different companies in their databases. This applies, for example, to credit card data received by airlines or online services.
Because of regular break-ins and personal information leaks, people no longer trust the promises that this information is confidential and will not be used for any harmful purposes when leaked.
What’s good about Transcend? The developers assure that with this software, users will be able to instantly track their personal data and, if necessary, completely delete it.
The problem is really serious. Not so long ago, the Marriott hotel chain said that after hacking their databases, the data of 5.2 million guests became available to intruders. A month ago, EasyJet reported a leak of personal data to 9 million passengers.
A number of countries, including the European Union, have laws aimed at protecting personal information, such as the General European Union Regulation on the Protection of Personal Data (GDPR). Thanks to these laws, users have the right to have full access to data collected about them by various companies to delete them if necessary. The only thing left to do is to configure everything technically. And maybe this new startup will become such a “help” for millions of citizens.
