Partial isolation of the whole of Cyprus is expected to be announced in the coming days to prevent further spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus, CNA reports citing “reliable sources”. The strengthening of the restrictive measures is due to the alarming dynamics of new infections – a three-digit number is recorded daily.
The first step should be to extend the restrictions now being applied in Limassol and Paphos to other areas of the island. This measure will be submitted to the Council of Ministers on Wednesday for a final decision.
Additional tightening of existing restrictions is also possible in those areas of Limassol and Paphos, where the epidemic is most difficult.
