Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades received the second and final dose of Pfizer BioNTech vaccine against coronavirus, CNA reported. The head of state expressed the hope that when the necessary proportion of the population is vaccinated to reduce the burden on hospitals and form collective immunity, Cyprus will return to normal life.
In his comments, Anastasiades noted that the vaccination procedure is completely painless. He thanked the medical personnel and all those who are fighting in the front line against coronavirus and recalled the magnitude of their contribution to the fact that Cyprus is still among the countries where the situation of COVID-19 is most successfully controlled.
Nicos Anastasiades urged Cypriots to actively participate in the vaccination campaign. He said that a gradual return to normal life can be talked about when the burden on the health system through vaccination is reduced to a controllable level.
