American politician Charlie Crist, a Cypriot by birth, kept his seat in the U.S. House of Representatives after the last elections, reports The Guardian.
The federal deputy from party of democrats Charlie Crist has repeatedly put forward the candidate on elections from 13th district of Florida and has been re-elected. He received 53 percent of the vote, 6 percent ahead of his Republican opponent Anna Paulina Luna.
Charlie Crist (Christodoulou), a descendant of Cypriot immigrants, was born in Pennsylvania, received a law degree and started to participate in the political life of the country quite early – during his career he was, in particular, the Attorney General and then the Governor of Florida. Crist is well acquainted with the Cyprus problem and has repeatedly participated in the congresses of the World Coordination Committee of the Cyprus struggle in Washington.
