Borsch can become part of the national cultural heritage of Ukraine
Minister of Culture of Ukraine Oleksandr Tkachenko intends to nominate the Ukrainian tradition of cooking borscht for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
He wrote about it on his page in social networks: “I am glad that the authentic process of Borsch preparation will now officially become a recognized property of Ukrainian traditions.
The Ministry of Culture of Ukraine is seriously considering the possibility to recognize Borsch as a part of the National cultural heritage. Other, the most important intangible values of Ukraine included a unique technology of Klembov’s shirt creation, borshevskaya folk embroidery, Easter festivities “Drive Volodar” in Vinnitsa region and Carpathian woolen blankets production.
