Believers in Cyprus should not expect an easing of the measures over Easter

The epidemic situation in Cyprus remains tense and the authorities have warned that believers should not expect any noticeable easing of restrictive measures against the spread of the coronavirus for Easter, Philenews reports.

Citing its own sources, the publication reports that the greeting “Christ is Risen Again” on Holy Saturday this year will apparently take place only outdoors – in churchyards, and there should be special markings indicating the social distance. The permitted number of parishioners inside churches is likely to remain the same. It is also likely that the Epitaph procession on Good Friday, as last year, will be banned.

Members of the Cypriot Presidential Epidemiological Council are finalising the preparation of the Easter protocols.
