Metro station from the world famous bureau Zaha Hadid Architects will appear in Moscow.
Zaha Hadid Architects has won an international competition for the design of this facility.
It will be a metro station of Biryulevskaya line “Maple Boulevard 2” (working name) in Nagatinsky Zaton area.
This was announced by Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin in his social networks: “The winner in the nomination “Maple Boulevard 2″ is the world famous bureau Zaha Hadid. The station will be light and elegant. An important element will be the light that is so lacking in our climate”.
The bureau has invented a lighting system for the station without any visible light sources. Lines on the floor and ceiling will not only illuminate the hall, but will also mark the edges of the platform, which is not recommended for passengers.
The appearance of the new subway station should improve the transport situation in the area and provide easy access to the museum-reserve “Kolomenskoye”.
