A car carrying a 19-year-old driver and four passengers crashed into a 15-meter ravine on the Mandria-Koilani road around 4 a.m. Sunday. The car overturned and was blocked, SigmaLive reported.
The driver managed to get out of the car and call emergency services. Police, firefighters and medics quickly arrived on the scene. The firefighters extracted the passengers safely from the car and the ambulance took them to the general hospital in Limassol.
Two of the passengers, aged 18 and 19, were seriously injured and hospitalized. Another 19-year-old passenger with a head injury and a 20-year-old girl with minor injuries also remained in hospital. The driver was the least injured of all, he received first aid, was tested with a breathalyzer and was released.
Police are still investigating the circumstances under which the accident occurred.
