A 30-year-old man was arrested on charges of kidnapping
On Wednesday, a 30-year-old man was arrested on charges of kidnapping.
Cyprus police received anonymous information that a 30-year-old man dragged a 50-year-old woman into his car and drove off to an unknown destination.
The victim, who had a friendly relationship with the suspect, was allegedly abducted and beaten by him.
The cause of the attack is financial. The suspect was called to the police, but denied everything. The victim claims that the man threatened to kill her if she decided to file a formal complaint against him.
After the warrant for his arrest was issued, the man was taken into custody.
During a court-ordered search of his home, the police found and seized a licensed rifle belonging to the suspect.
