Cypriots will have to learn to live with measures to combat coronavirus, because even a working and affordable vaccine will not remove restrictions immediately. This was stated by Associate Professor of Internal Medicine and Infection Prevention and Control at the European University, Dr. Constantinos Ciutis, in advance of today’s thematic meeting of the Cyprus Council of Ministers.
“What we should all understand is the need to adapt our daily lives to the current conditions. First of all, it is the observance of personal safety measures, minimization of contacts, protection of our health and the health of others, as well as maintaining a climate of trust in the interaction between our citizens, the state and experts, because the ultimate goal is important for all,” said the expert.
“It is necessary to realize that measures on social distance and reducing the maximum number of people at various meetings will be valid for many months. Even the availability of a ready, working and accessible vaccine to the general public will not give an instant result – we must see its effectiveness in practice,” he added.
