Cyprus introduced a curfew to fight the coronavirus

The Minister of Health of Cyprus, Konstantinos Ioannou announced new anti-pandemic measures that are being introduced throughout the country to stop the spread of coronavirus COVID-19.

From today until the end of the month, the movement of citizens will be prohibited between 23:00 and 05:00 – with the exception of trips for medical emergencies (to and from a pharmacy or hospital) or for official reasons – upon presentation of a certificate or evidence.
Catering facilities will be open until 22:30. It is allowed to gather in houses and public places (except for catering) up to 10 people.

In the areas of Limassol and Paphos, where the highest incidence of coronavirus is recorded, additional restrictions were introduced from November 5 to 16. All group sports and social activities of minors are prohibited (e.g., soccer, dance, swimming, martial arts, theater, choir, etc.). Competitions in which athletes from these areas participate will be postponed until the measures are lifted. All gyms and sports grounds, both indoor and outdoor, must be suspended.
