Teachers in the Republic of Cyprus are officially allowed by the Ministry of Health to take off their masks during classes. But it will be possible to do so only under two conditions: during the explanation of the new teaching material and if a distance of at least two meters from the first row of desks.

The question of whether or not to remove masks for teachers in the classroom was discussed by Education Minister Prodromos Prodromou at a meeting with representatives of the teachers’ union. After the discussion, a request was made to the Ministry of Health. In response, epidemiologists allowed teachers to remove masks while explaining the new material.
