From Monday, 14 September, EU and third-country nationals will have to come in person to the Department of Road Transport or Citizen Service Centres to apply and pay for their driving licence.
All necessary documents to be issued must be original, copies will not be accepted. The applicant must also have a valid residence permit.
It will not be possible for third parties or representatives of driving schools to submit documents from Monday.
This decision is due to the fact that many foreigners, being on the island on a single entry visa with the help of intermediaries received a driving license of the Republic of Cyprus.
