Following the recommendation of the World Health Organization of 22 August 2020, the Epidemiological Monitoring Unit of the Cyprus Ministry of Health has adopted a new directive on the mandatory use of a protective mask in enclosed spaces.
According to the directive, the use of a protective mask in enclosed spaces is now mandatory for everyone aged 12 years and over.
It specifies that the use of a protective mask in enclosed spaces is no longer mandatory for children aged 6 to 12 years. Previously, children from 6 years of age needed a mask when visiting an enclosed space.
After the meeting at the Education Ministry yesterday, it was decided that these rules will also be valid in schools.
