Hungaroring’s race at the third stage of the F1 World Cup Grand Prix has ended and the winner was Mercedes pilot Lewis Hamilton.
Lewis won the race in Hungary for the eighth time in his career and for the first time in the season he came first in the ranking of pilots.
The Red Bull racer Max Verstappen finished second, even though Max smashed his car on a forming circle. It rained heavily in Austria for 40 minutes before the race. The driver blocked the left front wheel in one of the turns and flew into the bounce. The car was repaired right on the starting grid, there were doubts, but nothing prevented the Dutch driver to come second.
Hamilton’s partner Valtteri Bottas was third. At the finish line Finn on the new tires caught up with Verstappen, but did not have time to conduct at least one attack.
Russian pilot Alfa Tauri could not get points – Daniil Kvyat finished 12th. Kvyat was not far from the point zone, but he could only get there if something happened to the two pilots in front of him.
His partner Pierre Gasly had engine issues om a pit stop and he got off the track.
