The second stage of easing restrictions on air travel began last Saturday – June 20. On that day, Larnaca airport received 1304 passengers. They arrived to Cyprus on 11 flights from Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Greece. All these countries are in category A, which includes: Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Switzerland, Hungary, Iceland, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Slovakia, Slovenia and South Korea.
All travelers from this category do not need a negative COVID-19 test now. However, the authorities have announced that spot checks will still be carried out.
The Ministry of Health already reported 297 such tests yesterday. It is assumed that about 300 passengers per day will be selectively tested at both airports.
For all those flying to the island from B-category countries, a negative test for COVID-19 is mandatory. B-category countries are: Israel, Poland, Romania, Belgium, France, Ireland, Italy, Lebanon, Jordan, Netherlands, Spain and United Arab Emirates.
For all repatriates, according to the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Cyprus, the COVID-19 test is also mandatory.
