Search for missing sailor in Larnaca waters
The Larnaca Search and Rescue Coordination Centre (KSED) continues its search for a cruise liner crew member who went missing the previous day.
He was last seen on the night of April 20, when the ship was 20 nautical miles south of Cape Kavo Gata. The man’s disappearance was noticed around noon on Tuesday. The information was passed on Wednesday to KSED, which immediately activated the NEARCHOS National Search and Rescue Plan, sending aircraft to the area in question.
Helicopters from GEEF’s 460th Air Force Management Squadron and the Police Aviation Squadron, manned by medical special personnel, are taking part in the so far fruitless search.
