The Cypriot Ministry of Health has reassessed the global epidemic and categorised countries into colour-coded categories depending on the results. The classification is dynamic, but as of March 1 – the date on which Cyprus promised to open its skies to arrivals from other countries – it looks as follows:
1. The green group: Australia, Iceland, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Singapore.
Entrants from these countries will have to take a free test on arrival and from April 1 there will be no restrictions at all.
2. Orange group – China (including Hong Kong and Macao), Denmark, Finland, Norway, South Korea, Thailand.
Passengers from these countries need to present a negative result for a kovid test not older than 72 hours. Cypriot nationals and residents, their immediate family members and persons with special permission may take the test upon arrival in Cyprus but the result will have to be awaited in self-isolation.
3. Red Group – Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Vatican City.
Those arriving from these countries present a fresh negative test result, re-test at their own expense on arrival and wait for the result in self-isolation. Citizens and residents of Cyprus, their close relatives and persons with special permits can be tested on arrival but have to spend 72 hours in self-isolation and then repeat the test.
The grey group – Belarus, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Russia, Rwanda, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom.
Only the following categories of passenger are permitted entry:
a) citizens, residents of Cyprus and their immediate family members;
b) Citizens of Europe, EEA and Switzerland;
c) nationals of other countries with special permits.
Entrants must present a recent negative test result. This can be taken upon arrival at your own expense (all except point B). You then have to stay in self-imposed isolation for 14 days – or retake the test after 10 days and be released if negative.
All those arriving from the UK are tested on arrival in Cyprus and quarantined for seven days at a local hotel. After a second test, if negative, they are required to spend a further three days in self-imposed isolation at home.
All passengers, regardless of country category, must complete a Cyprus Flight Pass 24 hours prior to departure to Cyprus.
