Cypriot transport minister promises normal postal service from March 1

Cypriot Transport Minister Yannis Karousos appeared on the SIGMA TV show “Mesimeri kai Kati” and, among other things, announced to Cypriots the solution to problems with sending and receiving mail as early as March 1.

According to the head of the agency, in recent months the COVID-19 pandemic has significantly affected air traffic around the world. Posts have been forced to find alternative ways to deliver items, which are invariably slower than airmail. In Cyprus, for example, a lot of mail was sent by sea, in the absence of other options.

From March 1, air service between Cyprus and other countries should improve markedly – so residents have a chance to remember how it is when mail reaches its addressees in a normal, non-delayed time.
