The thriftiest shoppers in Europe live in Nicosia
Nicosia has the most frugal and thrifty population among European capitals, according to a study by SaveOnEnergy.
The company’s analysts looked at Google searches for second-hand shopping, Etsy offers and Google Map searches for second-hand shops, discounts and flea markets.
The capital of Cyprus scored the highest, with 332 points: its residents have many opportunities to save money, and they actively use them. In addition to Nicosia, the top three are Vilnius, Lithuania (316 points) and Valletta, Malta (286).
The list is rounded out by Moscow, with the Russian capital’s residents “saving” just 48 points.
